Made from lightweight extruded materials, the components of the adjustable height aluminum gantry crane are easily lifted by one person. This provides cost effective shipment to a job site, and allows for ease of use in a multitude of work areas. For example, carrying up a ladder or staircase to a rooftop work area.

Spanco T Series Gantry Cranes offer three-way adjustability for span, height, and tread.

Their adjustment flexibility allows use on uneven floors, as well as passage through doorways, aisles, and under mezzanines or other overhead obstacles.

Spanco A Series Gantry Cranes are portable, lightweight, low-cost lifting solutions with sturdy “A” frame designs.

A Series Gantry Cranes have greater clear spans because they don’t require four brace legs like our T Series.

These Spanco All Aluminum Gantries quickly assemble and disassemble, making them popular with contractors who need highly mobile lift equipment that they can carry in their service trucks.

Just one or two workers can typically move a disassembled crane up stairways, onto roofs, or in other challenging locations. Once on location, the gantry cranes are rapidly assembled, ready to lift, and able to precisely position heavy objects, such as bulky HVAC units.

Because they are corrosion resistant, aluminum gantries are also ideal for refrigerated areas, clean rooms, and other controlled environments, making them increasingly popular with HVAC contractors.

Spanco E Series Gantry Cranes are straightforward, durable, dependable lifting solutions.

E Series stands for Economical, but don’t be confused. These are heavy-duty, industrial-grade cranes designed for long service life.

Spanco PF Series Gantry Cranes offer high capacity, high height, long span, and economical lifting solutions.

These strong, portal frame (PF) cranes can be ideal if:

• Your building can’t support jib cranes or overhead cranes. PF Gantry Cranes are self-supporting and travel directly on the floor.
• Your lifting volume is moderate and can’t justify more expensive, permanently installed cranes.
• You need an economical, versatile lifting system to supplement your existing overhead cranes.
• You rent your facility; these gantries can be relocated in the future.
• Your plant has been “making do” with multiple forklifts. Coordinating too many lifts, especially on heavy or very long loads, is unsafe, inefficient, and time consuming.

A Spanco Single Leg Gantry Crane provides material handling solutions in plants that cannot fit a double leg PF Series Gantry due to narrow, confined spaces or crowded machinery.

Our single leg crane (also known as a “semi gantry”) maximizes your space utilization. One leg end moves over the floor on wheels, while the other end runs overhead on a wall-mounted I-beam using one of two end truck designs:

Top-Running End Truck: The end of the gantry’s I-beam mounts onto an end truck that travels on the top side of an overhead runway beam.

Under-Running End Truck: The end of the gantry’s I-beam mounts onto an end truck that travels on the bottom flange of an overhead runway beam (max. span of 20 feet).

Made for extra strength, rigidity, and durability, Spanco Wide Flange Gantry Cranes are custom-engineered lifting solutions for CMAA Class C or D Service, or for applications requiring a longer span or heavier capacity than a standard gantry crane.

Our wide flange cranes include Double or Semi Gantries similar to our PF Series or Single Leg Gantries, but with higher capacities, heights, and spans.

Spanco Wide Flange Gantry Cranes are ideal for applications that require:

• Supplemental lifting systems that free up your existing large overhead cranes.
• Wide, clear passage underneath the gantry for machinery, vehicles, and personnel.
• CMAA Class C, Moderate Service: A lifting system that requires no floor tracks (or, for single leg designs, no angle guides). Uses polyurethane wheels for maximum traction directly on floor. Quiet operation and speeds up to 80 FPM.
• CMAA Class D, Heavy Service: Single or Double Leg Gantry cranes using double-flange wheels on an ASCE rail; speeds up to 150 FPM. (Limitations over 10 tons may apply.)

Spanco Power Drive Kits for our PF Series Gantry Cranes allow high volume, high capacity gantry travel along V-tracks, guide angles, or truly trackless paths.

The power drive kit includes: Two drives with drive wheels and sprockets; chains; two gear reducers; two single-speed, 230/460V, three-phase, TEFC motors; solid state, adjustable “soft start”; and two idler assemblies. Standard travel speed is 50 FPM; custom speeds available.

• V-Track Drives: Two motors drive rigid steel V-groove wheels along a fixed path.
• Guide Angle Drives: Ideal for installations where the gantry runs along a wall. Two motors drive polyurethane wheels that are guided on one side by a guide angle (locally sourced). The guide angle lags into the floor, typically at the base of a wall. The kit includes guide rollers on one drive and one idler assembly. Both drive and idler come with polyurethane bumpers.
• Truly Trackless Drives: Ideal when you need to keep your shop floor clear of any tracks or angle guides. A selector switch on the control pendant selectively turns each motor on and off to guide the gantry along.
